DURING the month of Ramadan, everyone at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (TGCR) in Petaling Jaya comes together to get things done.

Senior sous chef Roslan Hamid said everyone would pitch in to do their bit.
“This is the great thing about us – we converge and become a family.

“This Ramadan, our theme is ‘Citarasa Nusantara’, whereby we have Malay, Indian, Chinese, Thai and Arab food.

“We have five menus which are rotated, with more than 100 dishes daily.

“Those who come here will surely find something they like from the variety on offer,” he said, adding that all the food was carefully selected.

Roslan pointed out some of the highlights at the buffet, like the grilled meat on a stick a la Japanese style (Kushi Q), Gula Ketuk and Ayam Golek, which are not to be missed.

Looks yummy: Japanese barbecue sticks is one of the highlights.

The extravagant buffet line stetches from the Coffee House through the Main Lounge and Golfers’ Terrace to Golfers’ Lounge. To enhance the mood, the place has been given a kampung touch.

Among the dishes offered this Ramadan are Sup Tulang Rawan, Nasi Beriyani, Nasi Cendawan, Ayam Masak Ros, Ikan Pari Asam Pedas, Tauge Goreng Ikan Masin, Kari Kambing, Ikan Masak Tiga Rasa, Ikan Masak Lemak Cili Api, Kari Udang and Dalcha Sayur.

Something for everyone: Every diner will be able to find something they like in the buffet spread, says Roslan. You can check out the mooncakes, too.

Meanwhile, live cooking stations dish up Roti Jala, Ikan Bakar, Cendol, Fried Kway Teow, Fried Vegetable, Apam Balek, Gulai Kawah, Bubur Lambuk, Roti Canai, Barbecue and Satay, among others.

During the fasting month, TGCR will also be providing a buggy service for patrons whose cars are parked further away.

And, while you are there, check out also the halal mooncake selection, featuring the lotus paste with single yolk, white lotus white coffee with butter skin, red bean paste and jade custard, manufactured by the Citra Purnama.

The buffet is priced at RM55++ (adult) and RM30 nett (child) for members, while non-members will be charged RM62++ (adult) and RM35 nett (child).

Must-try: The Gulai Kawah is not to be missed.
