The renovation started with the Palms Wing which is the new F&B wing consisting of Pimento Italian restaurant, Momotalo Yakiniku Japanese traditional char-grilled restaurant, Cuisine Studio modern French restaurant and Havana bar, pool and karaoke lounge. This was followed by the two- storey building that houses Kindyland the kindergarten, the recently relocated and renovated Spring Garden Chinese restaurant as well as Royal Sporting House. Also included in this upgrading initiative are elaborate enhancements to the Grand Foyer and Golf Registration at the Sports Wing. The Clubhouse has also installed wireless internet access to all function rooms and restaurants plus all rooms can gain access to Havana karaoke that offers a library of 38,000 songs.

The transformation of the Grand Ballroom, featuring a more spacious area as well as state-of-the-art lighting, audio and video system, holds up to 900 banquet guests and adds the final touch to the most recent RM5 million renovation project.

"The objective is to upgrade the landmark clubhouse that has been serving residents, members and guests since March 1994. The 12,000 square feet Grand Ballroom is our grand dame and the highlight of our overall renovation project," said Herman Tan, General Manager of Tropicana Golf & Country Resort.

"Not only do we offer a truly exquisite Tropicana experience for our guests, but our ballrooms and boutique function rooms offer the absolute gorgeous ambience for those
who wish to hold social or professional events here."

The Grand Ballroom has been transformed to a rich colour palette of sage, topaz and serene earthy tones, combined to create a stunning environment for any special occasion or wedding celebrations such as Malay "majlis persandingan", Chinese banquet, Indian wedding ceremony, etc. as all cuisines are halal. The 18-foot high ceiling, dazzling with crystal chandeliers, creates a dramatic space for a couple’s first dance, wedding marches, product launches or an opening address of a corporate meeting. And for a more intimate event, the Grand Ballroom can easily be divided into three sections, with capacities ranging from 100 to 300.

Other smaller function rooms such as Greens I, II and II are equally striking, boasting a muted green, bronze and ruby coloured theme. All rooms are equipped with flat-screen TV, new state-of-the art lighting, audio and video system, permanent drop-down projection screens, lighting control system with Martin smartMAC moving heads that is used to illuminate the audience as well as to create multiple hues and colour tones to reflect the mood of the event plus high-tech electronic remote that controls everything at a touch of a button.

Tropicana also plans further enhancements to include a total remodel of The Palms Coffee House and Golfers’ Terrace Lounge at the Golf Wing of the Clubhouse. In line with its expansion programme, Tropicana has placed its mark in Ipoh by presenting another 10,000 square feet Tropicana Grand Ballroom at the Coliseum Square. This new 21-foot high ceiling ballroom features elegant finishes in subtle hues of gold, maroon and ivory. It can accommodate up to 800 guests, providing both clients and guests creative wedding celebrations, business gatherings or gala events. In addition, loyal patrons of Tropicana will also be pleased to know that more of such grand scale ballrooms will be mushrooming within Klang Valley in the near future.
