Appreciation Golf Challenge
EMIRATES (EK) recently hosted its 10th Anniversary Golf Challenge at the
Tropicana Golf and Country Resort.
It was held for more than 100 of its valued travel and cargo agents, corporate partners, select members of the media and VIP guests.
In appreciation of its valued partners and strengthening strategic business alliances, the tournament drew the support and participation of the Tunku Bendahara Kedah Datuk Seri Tunku Annuar Badlishah, Utar council chairman and former transport minister Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, as well as MAHB managing director Datuk Seri Bashir Ahmad.
Sime Darby Travels' Melvyn Pinto (handicap of 21) emerged the winner in the Travel Agent Category and overall champion of the golf challenge with a score of 38. He received a challenge trophy, a limited edition putting set and a business class return ticket to Dubai.
The event also saw winners Saw Chit Boon (handicap 15, score 37) and Michael Loo (handicap 12, score 37) in the Emirates Corporate Category and Cargo Category respectively.
They each received a trophy, limited edition putting set and a business class return ticket to Dubai while premium prizes were presented to winners in other categories.
Besides hosting EK Golf Day, Emirates is also the sponsor of some of the world's biggest and most prestigious international golfing events from the Dubai Desert Classic and the BMW International Open to the Austrian Open and the Hong Kong Open. Closer to home, Emirates was also the Official Carrier of the Maybank Malaysian Open 2006 and the Singapore Open 2006.
